Before you order
How is lime paint different from ordinary latex paint?
Lime paint is mineral and vapour-permeable — it “breathes” instead of forming a sealed film. It gives a soft, matt effect with natural tonal transitions that you cannot achieve with latex paint.
On which surfaces can I use lime paints and plasters?
Best on absorbent mineral substrates: gypsum and cement-lime plasters, primed plasterboard, concrete. Non-absorbent substrates or those previously painted with latex paint need a suitable primer.
What is the coverage?
It depends on the texture of the substrate. On a smooth surface, lime paint covers roughly 4–5 m² per 1 kg per coat; on coarse-grained plasters coverage drops to about 1.5–2 m² per 1 kg. Two coats are usually recommended.
How long does a lime coating take to dry?
The surface dries in a few hours; the next coat is usually applied after 4–6 hours. Full curing (carbonation of the lime) happens gradually over several days to a couple of weeks.
Are the products safe for bedrooms and children's rooms?
Yes. They are based on natural lime, have a low content of volatile organic compounds and are suitable for living spaces. The natural pH of lime limits the growth of mould and bacteria.
Can I return a product?
Yes. As a consumer you have 14 days from receiving the order to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason. The product should be unused, in its original, intact packaging.
