Depth and light

The biggest difference between lime and ordinary paint only shows when light falls on the wall. A lime surface is neither flat nor lifeless — it has subtle tonal transitions, a gentle matt quality and a depth that makes the colour seem to hold layers within it.

This happens because lime scatters light softly instead of reflecting it like a plastic film. That is why the same wall looks different in the morning — cool and calm — and different at dusk, when it turns warm and full. You do not have to do anything. It is enough to live beside it.

Tinting with inorganic pigments gives earthy, muted colours with natural depth — from delicate washes to uniform, saturated tones. The effect is closer to the texture of stone than to a flat wall.

It is this play of light that makes lime interiors something you feel before you can name it. A calm that cannot be printed.
